Roseville, Calif. — To support retailers in their quest to "go green," the Western Home Furnishings Assn. has added an online sustainable business practices hub to its Web site.
The retailer trade group said the move is a response to environmental concerns and to consumers' increasing desire to buy from retailers that support sustainable products and business practices.
"We at WHFA feel sustainability is a very important issue for our organization and our industry," said Sharron Bradley, the group's executive director. "Together, we can make a significant contribution to protecting our environment, and we want to provide retailers with the resources to help them run their businesses in a more eco-friendly fashion."
The sustainability hub provides links to green manufacturers, retailers, support organizations and educational articles. To log on, visit www.whfa.org, go to Industry Resources and click on Sustainable Business Practices.
