Clint Engel -- Furniture Today, August 24, 2007
WARREN, Mich. — Bob Price, former vice president, division merchandise manager for furniture at JCPenney, will join Art Van Furniture on Monday as vice president of merchandising for the Top 100 company.
He replaces Tom DeCorte, who now “will focus solely on special merchandising projects in support of new company initiatives,” the company said.
Price will lead the 29-store Michigan chain’s buying staff and provide direction for merchandise selection and assortment mix. He will report to Art Van Co-president Gary Van Elslander.
“He will ensure that our extensive assortment offers exciting, fashion forward products that fulfill the needs of our guests,” Van Elslander said.
Price was with Plano, Texas-based JCPenney more than 30 years, from 1974 until this May, when he took early retirement.
