Belfort sponsors tourney to help kids
Jay McIntosh -- Furniture Today, August 26, 2007
Dulles, Va. — Retailer Belfort Furniture here again was corporate sponsor of the YMCA of Loudoun County's 15th Annual Golf Classic, raising over $30,000 for the Building Bridges Campaign, which sends underprivileged children to summer camp.
This was the metro Washington store's third year sponsoring the event, held at the Loudoun Golf and Country Club in Purcellville, Va. The funds raised will allow 98 Loudoun County children a fun-filled experience at summer camp.
"We were honored, again, to partner with the YMCA and support this valuable program in our community," said Belfort CEO Michael Huber. "I don't know a better way of having a positive impact on our local community than by supporting our families and our children."
He expressed thanks to the furniture manufacturers who sponsored holes and attended the event.
"Their support was critical to the success of the event," Huber said.
Furniture industry executives participating in the event included Doug Bassett, vice president and general sales manager, Vaughan-Bassett; Craig Spooner, chief financial officer, Lexington Home Brands; Fred Starr, CEO and chairman, Natuzzi Americas; Mac McCall, president, Pennsylvania House; and Phil Goodson, Broyhill's Eastern sales manager.
The event also was supported by ART Furniture, Ashley Furniture Inds., Bernhardt, Craftmaster, Décor-Rest, JT Michael Designs, Lane, Restonic, Riverside Furniture, Sealy, Shermag, Southern, Stanley and Universal.
