New York - The New York Chapter of the International Furnishings & Design Association is saluting some emerging players in the industry later this month when it hosts its 7th annual Rising Stars of Design event.
This year, the organization will honor four "rising stars" of interior and product design, but will also for the first time honor a product designer in an effort "to recognize the mission and diverse membership of the IFDA."
"We will celebrate the unique perspectives on interiors offered by these up-and-coming designers with interior designer and IFDA member Amanda Nisbet as [master of ceremonies}," IFDA added.
Set for Nov. 19, the event kicks off at 5:30 with cocktails and networking, followed by the ceremony, which will run till 8:30 p.m. It will be held at the Christopher Guy showroom on the 16th floor of the New York Design Center, located at 200 Lexington Avenue, between 32nd and 33rd Streets.
Interior design honorees will be: John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon, the duo behind the New York- and North Carolina-based interior design firm Madcap Cottage; Joan Dineen and Alyson Liss-Pobiner of Dineen Architecture; and Jon Call of Mr Call Designs.
And the first-time honorees for product design are Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson of Apparatus. Born from playful experimentation with vintage lighting components, Apparatus is a collection of lighting fixtures created by Hendifar and Anderson.
Ticket price discounts are available during early registration, which ends Nov. 14 -- $20 for IFDA members, free to student members, $40 for non-members, and $20 to non-member students.
Ticket prices after Nov. 14 and at the door are: $35 for IFDA members, $15 student members, $55 non-members, and $25 non-member students.
