MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Contemporary case goods importer Casana is opening a domestic warehouse here as part of an effort to better serve its North America dealer base.
The company is occupying a 60,000-square foot leased warehouse in Martinsville that will stock up to 10 bedroom collections at a time. These sets, which retail from $1,699 to $2,499 for four pieces, have been selected based on retailer interest and order history.
Dining, entertainment and occasional product will be included in the mix when it is part of a collection, said Roger Friesen, president and CEO.
The company continues to ship direct mixed containers from source factories in Vietnam and Indonesia. The domestic warehouse will allow these customers to fill in around existing purchase orders.
"Our customers are currently able to source mixed containers from inventory we keep in our overseas factories," Friesen said, adding that the facility also will open the line to those retailers not ordering direct containers.
He said that the facility also will give flexibility to customers that want to try out the line first without committing to container orders.
"Retailers have asked us to do this for some time, and we are pleased we could make it happen," Friesen added.
The company said product will begin shipping from the warehouse in September.
