GUANGZHOU, China - For the past 15 years, the China International Furniture Fair, held twice a year, has drawn buyers from Asia and elsewhere seeking value oriented furniture and other residential décor.
This March, the 31st edition of CIFF will guide the show into its next 15 years and beyond with a new layout meant to appeal to buyers of specialized segments within the industry.
The show takes place March 18-21 at the Import Export Fair Complex in the heart of Guangzhou, the capital of the Guangdong Province in the Pearl River Delta.
The event will feature about 1,900 exhibitors showing product in about four million square feet. More than 1,000 of these companies showcase furniture. Another segment of the show, called Homedecor & Housewares China features some 700 suppliers of home accents, housewares and home textiles. The remaining 200 exhibitors are outdoor furniture companies that are taking part in Outdoor & Leisure Guangzhou 2013.
Previously, the furniture segment of the show was segmented into two main areas highlighting traditional and contemporary styles. Those styles will continue to be segmented in halls A and B, but the show also has established four new specialty areas.
These include the International Hall of Modern Furniture Brands, which will include brands from more than 20 countries including the United States, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, Australia and Denmark. Among the companies set to debut here in March are Versace Home, Roberto Cavalli, Thomasville and Maitland- Smith. This area will occupy about 150,000 square feet.
Another 100,000 square feet will be devoted to the Kids & Teens Furniture Zone, which will focus on youth furniture. Among the brands showing product here are Chinese manufacturers Yours Furniture, Kingtinto Furniture and X.M.B. Furniture.
The other two areas are the Customized Furniture Zone, which is geared toward designers and other buyers of high quality furniture, and the Neo- Chinese and Mahogany Furniture Zone, which offers upper end products produced in key industrial areas of both north and south China. This includes mahogany furniture from upper- end Chinese brands.
A second phase of the show, CIFF Office, takes place March 27-30 in conjunction with the China International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Raw Materials Fair/Interzum Guangzhou.
