The Bombay Company to launch ecommerce
David Perry -- Furniture Today, August 7, 2012
New York - The Bombay Company - a brand now owned by Hermes-Otto International USA and licensed out in numerous product categories - will launch an ecommerce site in September.
Initially, the site will carry about 300 items, according to Wil Hollands, president.
"Bombay truly is a lifestyle brand," he told HTT. "People really relate to the sense of style."
The company decided to move forward with ecommerce based on feedback from its social media interactions with consumers. "The number one response was "When will you have it online?'" said Hollands.
Bombay signed a home textiles license last October with JLA International, which includes bedding, curtains and bath accessories. The collection is exclusive to Bed Bath & Beyond. Last month, Bombay announced its latest licensing agreement, which covers youth, occasional, dining and accent furniture to be produced by The Powell Company.
