Lilly promotes Smith to new post

St. Charles, Ill. — The Lilly Management Group has promoted Deborah Smith to director of manufacturing and quality assurance, a new position at the consulting firm.
She will oversee work for clients involving quality assurance programs and audits, and mattress factory personnel training. She also will assist clients in increasing production efficiencies, improving materials flow and factory layout, and in their fire-retardant compliance programs.
Smith joined LMG last year as quality assurance manager. Before that, she worked for Serta for six years, most recently as manager of research and development.
"One of our key objectives has been to build a staff with the capability and experience of delivering meaningful services in every aspect of the mattress business, from strategic initiatives to operational efficiencies," said Susan Ebaugh, LMG managing partner. "Deborah's direct experience in the mattress business, as well as her career experience in manufacturing and quality management, makes her a unique and valuable asset both to our clients and our consultancy."
