Walmart to break ground on new Supercenter in Maryland this fall

Denton, Md. - Walmart is about to start construction on a new Supercenter store here that is slated to open in a year.
The ground-breaking is set for Sept. 19 for the new site, located here at 610 Legion Road. It will measure 152,888 square feet upon completion in Summer 2012.
The new supercenter's merchandise areas will include apparel and accessories, sporting goods, electronics, home, fine jewelry, outdoor garden center and health & beauty as well as a full line of groceries, a bakery, a delicatessen, a frozen food section and meat, dairy and fresh produce sections.
It is expected to create at least 250 jobs for its region.
"Walmart is excited to begin the construction of this Supercenter site in an effort to bring greater development to Caroline County, offer quality jobs with good benefits and a variety of goods at our everyday low prices to those in the community," said Mary Wilson, Maryland Market Manager, Walmart. "We look forward to partnering with elected officials, community leaders and surrounding businesses to help address the needs of the local community."
Walmart currently operates 35 stores and 12 Sam's Clubs in Maryland.
