The 4Seasons line is being expanded with Richmond, a transitional office and entertainment group with a scaled-down profile and warm finish. The group includes a Nano desk and hutch, computer armoire, display case, modular office system, lateral files, bookcase wall, computer desk, credenza desk with hutch and executive desk.

Arlington by Bernhardt fits the new American style, an urbane take on traditional styling. The writing desk features a hinged top, interior sliding tray and grommet holes for charging PDAs and cell phones. Details include nickel-finished hardware in a faceted pattern and exposed nickel-finished hinges.

  • Mission Pointe is an Arts & Crafts design, with walnut butterfly splines, exposed joinery and a hand-rubbed waxy finish. A computer writing desk with charging center comes in oak solids, oak and walnut veneers.

  • Adding L configurations to an executive office program launched in the spring; includes desk, credenza, deck, file and bookcases.

  • Chateau Versailles is in Louis Philippe-era styling, with antique metal hardware, a rich brown finish with light distressing and a rich patina on hardwood solids and cherry veneers. Collection includes desk, executive desk, credenza and hutch.

  • New Castle, in Antique Buckskin and Old World finishes on pine solids with birch and okume veneers, which lends itself well to classic traditional designs. Collection features leg desk, executive desk, credenza and hutch.

  • Inspired by fine 17th-century English cabinet making, the Clarendon Executive collection is Hooker's first collection combining home office, entertainment and bookcases that can be wrapped around a wall or used freestanding. Olive ash burl with cherry veneers in a medium brown finish on poplar and rubber woods. Foliated Gadroon carving on edge of all tops, which are in wood parquet patterns. Hand-carved solid-wood acanthus leaf pediments, transitioning to pilasters adorned with lily and rosette hand carving, inserted in a hand-carved crevassed column. Leg desk aprons adorned with acanthus foliate supported by George III cabriole legs, transitioning to a hand-carved scroll foot. Home office features bar/wine cabinet, corner wall unit, executive desk, bookcase, console, credenza, and hutch combinations.

  • In the Small Office Solutions program, introductions include Hampstead, in hardwood solids and cherry veneers with a rich brown finish with light distressing and burnishing. Options include wedge desk, file cabinets and hutch with charging station; Colebrook, in hardwood solids and cherry veneers in a black finish with rub-through, with wood tones in a rich brown cherry finish and satin nickel hardware, options include wedge desk, file cabinets and hutch with charging station; and Glenhill, in hardwood solids and veneers with black rub-through finish and Asian hardware; options include leg desk, file cabinets, corner unit credenza and hutch.

  • Seven Seas executive desk chair program expands with exposed wood chairs and leather colors including Derby Prairie Meadow, Constitution Justice/Embark, James River Manchester, Epicure Taste, Brindisi Dionisi, Brindisi Tancredi, Old World, James River Edgewood and James River Manchester.

  • Zacara features home office in a soft contemporary. The materials tell the story in this group, with zebrano and walnut veneers in a warm Sable finish, detailed with hardware in a Champagne finish that is currently in vogue for high-end fashion jewelry.

  • Long Cove home office is a sophisticated coastal look with traditional forms, in two finishes: Shell offers a refinished antique look; Midnight finish is almost black, in a low-sheen, very dark brown.

Borghese collection is influenced by the classic beauty of Roman architecture, flowing terraces and well-appointed lifestyles. Crafted of white teak solids, swirl ash veneers and African Walnut inlays. A leg desk is dressed in a Sumatra finish with Medici and Vintage Gold metal leaf trim, with polished Madeira marble, antique mirror accents on the legs and posts, and antique brass and antique nickel hardware. A kidney desk features reeded details and small tapered feet, in a Briar finish with Medici and Vintage Gold trim accents, and ample storage and work space.   • Chesapeake collection features a deck-over-deck home office combination that combines a sofa table and media console for a highly functional accent piece. The decks have cubicles for mail, storage for electronic wiring and a pull-out tray for writing or a laptop. In an American/comfortable cottage style and two-tone finish of black combined with cherry veneer tops and antique hardware. Includes a cabinet and drawers for storage as well as display cubes and sorting slots; designed to accommodate electronic wiring storage. Stackable mini-desk is available in the black hand-painted finish, $1,249.

  • The functional and adaptable Sundance Prairie desk comes with hutch, chair, cabinet and end tables. Features simple hardware and rugged feel, slightly Western in its inspiration. Designed to accommodate electronic wiring. Includes stackable mini-desk in walnut finish, with three drawers, one door and one pull-out tray, $1,249.

  • With a focus on versatility and function, Harvest Lane is a six-piece office set inspired by the casual American Country style, with sophisticated and eclectic looks retaining a timeless appeal through its traditional, basic design elements. Comes in a warm medium-tone August Pine finish with pewter-toned hardware featuring a wheat motif.

  • Rooted in the new, more casual Craftsmen style, Rose Valley home office comes in a rich golden brown oak finish. Clean contemporary stained glass effect on framed doors and custom-designed antique copper hardware.

  • Northbridge, a cottage look for the home office loaded with function. Solid-wood and birch veneer construction, antique white finish and satin nickel cup hardware. Executive desk has slide-out keyboard tray and four drawers, plus two bottom drawers to hold letter, legal and A4 files. A low hutch can be added on both the left and right sides, featuring a configuration of six cubbies and a drawer, crowned by a signature repetitive small arch detail. Computer credenza and tall hutch also available. Tall hutch features dramatic crown molding with a center arched section, arched framed glass doors and a framed panel back.   • Magnolia Park is a five-piece traditional-inspired home office constructed from solid wood and veneers, with a dark, rich vintage mahogany finish. Features new Quick Assembly methodology.

  • Following the company's acquisition of office seating importer Gruga-Novimex, Sauder has 30 new office chairs this market. The Gruga chairs encompass a broad range of price points and styles, including task, manager, executive and ergonomic seating. Features patented designs that meet ANSI and BIFMA standards, $49 to $249.

  • Featuring designs employing its new Quick Assembly methodology, which incorporates the use of sub-assemblies, combining manufacturing and finishing methods of case goods with RTA engineering and assembly methods. Target time for in-home assembly is 30 minutes or less on all units through reduction of complexity and number of parts. Standard RTA fasteners will be replaced on these designs with quality case goods joinery methods.

  • Nine new collections and a new convertible home office concept, with full-featured desks that convert into entertainment centers. Shelves move by collapsing into the side walls of the unit, so it will hold up to a 51-inch TV.

  • A desk that can be used as a peninsula desk with a wall, or as a computer/wall unit desk.

The credenza/deck has a scroll iron grill with a hint of antique gold on the shell work overlaying seeded glass doors. Features the latest technological amenities, including a concealed laptop port, wire management, file drawers, flip-down keyboard tray and vented CPU storage.

Strategy: Add more decorative home office design and a new finish to midpriced to upper-end home office.

  • Rooted in English-based American design, American Perspective includes 10 home office pieces in clean looks that seem both contemporary and traditional
    Features two key silhouettes: a tapered Shaker-style leg and a more substantial bracket base. The collection is available in three slightly distressed finishes: All-American Cherry, Beeswax Cherry and Hearth Black. Choice of natural wood knobs or darkened antique brass hardware, with a recessed, Shaker-style scoop behind the knobs. Highlights include a cylinder rolltop desk with pull-out surface that can be used anywhere in the home; a decorative desk with clean lines and leather insert top; and a freestanding bookcase desk with pull-out writing surface and file cabinet.   • Paradise Valley's seven-piece home office comes in two finishes, Antique Ebony and heavily distressed, weathered and sanded Sandstone. The generously scaled and casual collection is crafted of ash solids and white oak veneers. Shapes are soft and rounded, with oversized thick moldings and columns. Emperador marble, in a light or ebony tone to suit the finish, is scuffed with an antique honing. Wrought iron and aged brass accents. Highlights include an executive desk with a contemporary scalloped Doric column pattern; a decorative desk with concave stretcher, four soft square turned legs and leather insert; and a writing desk with heavy wood scroll inset and ribbon iron work. Desks range from $1,295 to $2,295.

  • Tanglewood collection reflects a warm, comfortable, easy-living feel. Styles include Artisan, an Arts & Crafts group in Auburn Cherry; Kennett Square, a contemporary cherry group in a Dark Chocolate finish; Rue De Lyon, Wynwood's best-selling Louis Philippe home office group in Cognac Cherry; and Shelby County, a dark quartered oak transitional group. Each collection includes at least eight pieces, including chairs, with like pieces priced the same regardless of the collection. Executive desk, $799.

  • Signatures, a new collection of writing desks, features five styles compatible with the HomeWorks program. Each style has a laptop-friendly desk with electrical outlets and a coordinating chair. Desk, $499.
