Latex International promotes Coleman to president

Veitch named senior VP of sales, fabrication

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 26, 2007

SHELTON, Conn. — Latex International, the U.S.-based Talalay latex producer, has promoted Kevin Coleman to president, effective Oct. 1.

He has been the company’s chief operating officer since 2005 and has led its lean transformation program. He will retain the COO post.

Latex International has been without a president since November, when Mike Lorelli, president and CEO, left the company.

John Pouschine, chairman of the board of Latex International and co-founder of Pouschine Cook Capital Partners, LP, the company’s majority shareholder, said Coleman “has done a superior job over the past two years in architecting LI’s operations during this period of strong growth.  Under his leadership, the company significantly improved operating results, while increasing operating capacity and driving innovation and customer service. The board is excited about the future of the company and his ability to constantly challenge the status quo and drive positive change.”

Coleman has worked in manufacturing management for more than 20 years. Before joining Latex International, he was chief operating officer for Evans Inds., and earlier held posts at General Electric and Frigidaire.

Latex International also announced that Will Veitch has been promoted from vice president of sales to senior vice president of sales and fabrication. Kevin Stein remains vice president of marketing.

Founded over 30 years ago, Latex International says it is North America’s leading manufacturer of latex foam mattress components and pillows. The company has fabrication facilities in Connecticut, Georgia, and California.
