Elmore leaves Master Design

Company closes High Point office

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 28, 2007

HIGH POINT — Joe Elmore has left his executive post at case goods importer Master Design.

He joined the company in January 2006 as executive vice president of sales, marketing and product development. He also helped oversee Asian sourcing activities.

Elmore, who worked out of the company’s office in High Point, which has closed as the company consolidates operations into its Ontario, Calif., headquarters offices. Master Design officials in the California offices were not available for comment, so it was not immediately clear whether they have named a replacement for Elmore.

The office closure occurred about two and a half weeks after the company also decided to leave its warehouse operations at an MGM facility in nearby Eden, N.C.

Elmore said he said he chose to stay in High Point for personal reasons and will not be joining the staff in Ontario. He declined to speculate on his future plans in the industry.
