CARTHAGE, Mo. — Leggett & Platt has promoted Phillip Herrin to vice president of contract and hospitality sales for its Consumer Products Group.
Herrin was previously vice president of sales for Consumer Product’s Southeast region. He has worked in sales and sales management within Consumer Products for the past 13 years and before that worked for six years in the Bedding Group as customer service manager and sales manager.
He replaces Dick Bullock, a 43-year industry veteran, who will retire on Jan. 31.
Laura Nix will replace Herrin as vice president of sales for Consumer Products’ Southeast region. She joined the division in 2003 as a sales representative for North Carolina and coastal South Carolina. Before that, she worked in a sales, customer service management and sales representative roles in the furniture and components industry, including officer furniture supplier The Boling Company.
Both report to Rob Woods, president of the Consumer Products Group.
“Dick did a great job for many, many years and we will certainly miss him,” Woods said, adding that the change occurs at a time when the company is looking to expand its profile in the contract and hospitality arena. The push will include products from mattress protectors and adjustable beds to ornamental beds available in Fashion Bed Group, and top of bed products available through its Southern Textiles division.
“There is a market for those items in the higher end, better hotels,” he said.
