Serta lends additional support to Komen fund

Hoffman Estates, Ill. — Serta is expanding its partnership with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, which supports breast cancer research.
The new program is an essay contest in which two breast cancer survivors or co-survivors will win a $10,000 bedroom makeover spearheaded by Thom Filicia, of TV's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and the Style Network's "Dress My Nest."
"I wanted to honor these special women by designing a space that would not only be beautiful but provide comfort and support," said Filicia.
The winners also will be honored by a $5,000 donation to Komen for the Cure in each of their names.
Serta is calling for nominations of women or men who have been affected by breast cancer. Entrants, either survivors or the loved ones of a survivor, are invited to submit an essay about their breast cancer story.
Since 2005, Serta has donated nearly $600,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support the group's goal of saving lives and ending breast cancer.
Entries can be submitted online at www.serta.com or can be dropped off at a participating America's Mattress store to receive a special Serta Counting Sheep for the Cure gift. A list of participating dealers is at www.americasmattress.com.
The Counting Sheep will support the cause with limited-edition Counting Sheep for the Cure pink mattress sets, offered at participating dealers.
