HOUSTON — The RoomStore is opening a 120,000-square-foot superstore here with a broader product assortment that includes furniture, rugs and home accents from around the world.
The Richmond, Va.-based Top 100 company, with more than 70 stores in eight states, will hold its grand opening for “RoomStore World” on Nov. 1. The store is in a renovated warehouse on Brittmoore Road and is an expansion of an existing RoomStore.
In addition to the 300 room packages offered at most of its locations, RoomStore World will feature “a huge selection of accent pieces such as Asian and Indian antique reproductions, clocks, curio cabinets, wine racks, tables, chairs, chests and much more,” the company said in a press release. The retailer also is devoting 6,000 square feet to imported area rugs and carpets.
“We are very excited about RoomStore World,” said CEO Curtis Kimbrell. “We are buying a lot of furniture direct from the manufacturers, and this translates into lower prices for our customers.”
RoomStore ranks No. 26 on Furniture/Today’s Top 100 list, with an estimated $350 million in furniture, bedding and accessories sales in 2006 at 70 stores throughout Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Florida.
