Wickes to open second Las Vegas store
Will include new Urban Innovations furniture line

HENDERSON, Nev. — Wickes Furniture will open its second Las Vegas area store here Friday.
The 40,000-square-foot showroom on West Sunset Road will feature, among other things, the Top 100 company’s new line of furniture — Urban Innovations — pulled to together from various suppliers and designed for small spaces such as condos, townhouses and apartments.
The store’s bedding galleries include mattresses from Sealy, Simmons, Nature’s Bed and Tempur-Pedic.
Grand opening events are planned Nov. 17 and 18 and include free hamburgers and hotdogs, face painting for kids, and drawings for tickets to college football’s Rose Bowl. Through the end of the month, visitors to the store can enter a drawing to be part of a private design party with Frank Fontana, host of HGTV’s “Design on a Dime.”
Wheeling, Ill,-based Wickes, with 42 stores in greater Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Portland, Ore., opened its first Las Vegas store this past summer on North Decatur Boulevard.
President and CEO John Disa has said the company hopes to open a third Las Vegas store next year.
