American of Martinsville
Martinsville, Va. — Contract furniture manufacturer American of Martinsville has promoted Michael Padjen to the position of senior vice president of operations, from vice president of sourcing. He reports to Noel Chitwood, president.
Padjen will be responsible for both domestic and offshore finished product and parts sourcing.
Before joining the company, he was senior vice president of operations at cabinet manufacturer Wellborn Forest Products, and earlier was at La-Z-Boy, where he was instrumental in launching its global operation.
Design Management Co.
New York — Strategic management firm Design Management Co. has added several new employees.
Thirty-year industry veteran Victor Pedraz has been named senior vice president of manufacturer services, responsible for showrooms, distribution and business development. He has developed and launched product for U.S. and foreign suppliers, and worked to refine and position the Las Vegas Design Center as a hybrid design center.
Cameron Cook has joined DMC as media relations account manager. She most recently was responsible for marketing and product development at Carolyn Kinder in Chang An, China. Her father, Jeff Cook, is president of Broyhill Furniture Inds.
In August, DMC added Rachel Leigh Ward and Russ Winer.
Ward is publicist, handling the public relations for clients in the interior design and manufacturing industries. Her background is public relations and marketing for the fashion and design industries.
Winer, the company's art director, previously held a similar post at Gold's Gym International.

American Fibers & Yarns
Chapel Hill, N.C. — Yarn supplier American Fibers and Yarns Co. has hired Mike Slaton as a key account manager.
He will focus on developing new programs and generating new business across various markets, and reports to James T. Morelli, AF&Y vice president of sales and marketing.
Slaton has over 25 years of sales experience and an extensive background in management. Most recently, he was general manager and vice president of sales and marketing for RSW Yarns, responsible for overall operations, including sales, customer service, manufacturing and quality control.
Big Kahuna
Niles, Ill. — Textile industry veteran Howard Rosenblum has joined Big Kahuna Fabrics to head sales and marketing for its newly created outdoor fabric division.
Rosenblum, who previously was a longtime sales representative for fabric source Richloom, also will represent Big Kahuna's sister company, Mitchell Group, a source for faux leather. In that role, he will call on key accounts and the transportation industry.
Hammary Furniture Co.
Lenoir, N.C. — Case goods producer Hammary Furniture Co. honored its top sales representatives at an awards dinner during the fall High Point Market.
Zoltan Hantos, who covers western Canada, was named Salesman of the Year. Ron Carson, who represents Hammary in Tennessee and Kentucky, won the President's Cup.
Honored for achieving more than $1 million in sales were Jay Berger, Frank Caldwell, Carson, Bill Clark, George Ramel, Dusty Fryer, Bob Lanzner, Jerry Davis, John Patterson, Brian Toogood, Mike Weinstein, John Yancey, Bill Bohlken, Ralph Campbell, Greg Doyle, Al Hill, Hantos, Steve Dwyer, Gary Doré, Shelly Eisenberg, Rich Huber, Mike DeVito, Ben Kostick and Ed Urbansi.
Kas Rugs
Somerset, N.J. — Kas Rugs has named Joe Gray a territory sales manager, covering the New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington metro areas.
He was with Banilivy Rugs as a sales manager. Before that, he was a retail buyer.
At Kas, Gray reports to Brandon Culpepper, national sales manager.
Victor Innovatex
Saint-georges, Quebec — Christine Wekilsky has joined fabric supplier Victor Innovatex as sales manager for the jobber market, a new position for the contract fabric specialist.
Wekilsky previously was contract sales director for now-defunct Quaker Fabric, the designs and equipment of which were sold to Victor in September and became the foundation of Victor Innovative Textiles, a Fall River, Mass.-based fabric company.
Wekilsky reports to Jean Francois Gagnon, sales director. She will continue to be based in Providence, R.I.

Golding Fabrics
Greensboro, N.C. — Wendy Schneider has joined Golding Fabrics as design director, a new position for the supplier.
She most recently was with Culp, and earlier had been with Quaker and Mastercraft.
Golding also has named David Harrell as sales representative for the Hickory, N.C., and High Point areas. He formerly was with American Century Home Fabrics.
