SARASOTA, Fla. — Eight independent Ethan Allen stores under six ownership groups in Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are conducting or have recently wrapped up promotional sales.
Five of the stores are converting to other brands — four to Drexel Heritage and one to Thomasville — while three others are closing as their owners consolidate their businesses into nearby stores.
The stores involved in the sales are in:
-
Sarasota, Pinellas Park and Lakeland, Fla. All are owned by the Burgess family and are converting to Drexel Heritage stores.
-
Reynoldsburg, Ohio, owned by Steve Carter, who has consolidated his business to focus on his other Ethan Allen store in Worthington, Ohio. Both stores are in the Columbus area, and Carter said the Worthington store is in a stronger location and is doing well.
-
Kettering, Ohio, owned by Bob and Suzy Day, who are converting to Drexel Heritage.
-
Willow Grove, Pa., owned by Louis and David Levine, who are consolidating the business to focus on their two other Philadelphia-area stores.
-
Fitchburg, Wis., owned by George Heine, who is converting to Thomasville.
-
Toledo, Ohio, owned by Steve Kline and Lloyd Thomas, who will focus on their other retail business, Contemporary Interiors.
Lynch Sales Co. is conducting the sales at all the stores. The 94-year-old firm, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., has run some 200 sales for Ethan Allen dealers.
