Shades of Light, Richmond, Va.
Colonial Metalcrafts, founded nearly 50 years ago, has a long history of manufacturing its signature line of handcrafted colonial-inspired lighting products. The company, led by current president and owner Jason Fredrick, has been owned and operated by the Fredrick family since 1993.
Colonial's team of skilled artisans design and manufacture products for the residential and commercial markets, including restaurants, historic properties, luxury homes and several feature films. Fredrick will continue to lead the manufacturing operations of Colonial Metalcrafts and all of its employees have been retained by Shades of Light.
The deal will add to Shades of Light's line of exclusive lighting products, and Colonial Metalcrafts' expertise in metal working and metal finishing will further enhance Shades of Light's existing production capabilities. In addition, a company release states the move will strengthen Shades of Light's position in the regional interior designer market with the addition of Colonial Metalcrafts' existing customer base of residential and commercial designers and its custom fixture and repair capabilities.
