Got Sleep? partners with anti-malaria effort

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Bedding retailer Got Sleep? has partnered with the United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign to provide mosquito nets to families in Africa.
A family sleeps under a bed net that offers protection from mosquitoes that could be bearing malaria.
Every 60 seconds, a child in Africa dies due to malaria, usually contracted while sleeping. The easiest and most cost-effective method of prevention is by using insecticide-treated bed nets that protect families from the potentially deadly bite of a mosquito while they sleep.
For each sleep set purchased in Got Sleep? stores, the company will donate funds to Nothing But Nets for two bed nets. To date, the retailer has donated more than 690 nets.
"Giving back is core to the culture of our company," said Mike Wilson, Got Sleep? executive vice president of marketing. "We were compelled by the stories of these families who can't sleep without concern for their health and wellbeing, and our ability to help do something about it. Working alongside the United Nations Foundation and in collaboration with the Nothing But Nets campaign, we are hoping to donate more than 1,300 nets by the end of the year."
