Fall's bedding newcomers adds spice to High Point

This market brings a potpourri of new bedding exhibitors; the change of seasons ushers in a changing cast of bedding characters.
Two of the key newcomers aren't really new, although both have been away from High Point for a good while and much has changed in High Point over the years.
Memory foam leader Tempur-Pedic, which left High Point years ago to join the then-fledgling market in Las Vegas, now returns in the Sealy headquarters complex in Archdale. Tempur-Pedic and Sealy are on the same team now - Tempur Sealy International - so it makes sense that Tempur-Pedic's memory foam line will join the bedding displays at Sealy.
Also returning to High Point after a long absence is Boyd Specialty Sleep, managed by specialty sleep guru Denny Boyd. Boyd's new bedding programs for Broy hill and Thomasville should be well received by the furniture retailers who shop High Point in force. This is a good time for Boyd to re-enter the High Point Market.
Also joining the High Point bedding mix is a real newcomer, ZZZest, a gel bedding and sleep accessories company launched earlier this year by some gel bedding veterans that debuted in Las Vegas. That company's Breathe gel foam offers a visible selling story, an advantage in the rapidly expanding gel bedding arena, where product differentiation is a challenge.
Another High Point newcomer is Malouf Fine Linens, which offers attractive lines of sleep accessories that I first saw at the Las Vegas Market last summer. That was the first trade show for Malouf, a 10-year-old company, and it was a strong inaugural effort. The Utah-based company is expanding distribution in the East, so the move to High Point is a logical one.
Yet another High Point bedding newcomer is Spring Time Bedding, which bills itself as a leading bedding independent. The company operates out of a 75,000-square-foot facility in South Hackensack, N.J., and offers a full line of bedding models.
Julie Messner, vice president of leasing for International Market Centers, welcomes the bedding newcomers to "the growing lineup of mattresses and accessories featured at the High Point Market."
We would add our own welcome, and also extend our best wishes to all bedding and sleep accessories companies showing in High Point. May the fall show here be a healthy one for everyone in Mattressville. Let's get some solid momentum as we finish this year.
