Kent Hussey steps down from Furniture Brands board
Larry Thomas -- Furniture Today, August 30, 2013
ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Kent J. Hussey has resigned from the board of directors for Furniture Brands International.
The company said that Hussey resigned last Friday, August 23. His decision to resign as a director was not due to any disagreements with the company, a Securities and Exchange Commission filing said.
Hussey started as a director in May 2012. He retired from consumer products manufacturer Spectrum Brands where he was CEO in 2010. Spectrum Brands emerged from bankruptcy protection in 2009.
Hussey also serves on the board of American Woodmark. In its proxy statement earlier this year, FBI said Hussey brought experience in corporate finance, international operations and strategic planning to the company.
Furniture Brands stock closed at $0.58 on the OTCQB Marketplace on Thursday. It began trading on the marketplace Wednesday Aug. 28.
