LAS VEGAS — Furniture designer Vladimir Kagan will kick off a new Design Icon lecture series at the Las Vegas Design Center during the upcoming Las Vegas Market.
He’ll take part in two events in the city on Thursday, Jan. 31.
At the World Market Center, Kagan will speak from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the World Forum on the 16th floor of Building B. The talk, open to market attendees, is part of the Design Icon series in which industry legends will share their stories and experiences with tomorrow’s designers.
Kagan also recently volunteered as the lead interior designer for a historical preservation project by the Junior League of Las Vegas, the midcentury modern Morelli House. He’ll visit the house at 861 Bridger St. from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 31 for a book signing and open house.
Free shuttle service between the WMC and the Morelli House will be available to marketgoers who wish to attend the event.
Dana Andrew, vice president of marketing and public relations for the World Market Center, said Kagan donated items including a cubist dining table and walnut-stained, beech wood barrel chairs to the house.
“Not only did The Vladimir Kagan Design Group donate thousands of dollars’ worth of furnishings for the Morelli House, but Mr. Kagan and his team gave of their time and tremendous talents as well. It was truly a gift from their hearts,” said Andrew.
The WMC has underwritten Kagan’s expenses and HD Design Magazine, along with the Las Vegas chapters of the American Institute of Architecture and by the American Society of Interior Designers, are underwriting the reception at the Morelli House.
