Fire destroys Saundra's Furniture in Colville, Wash.

COLVILLE, Wash. — A fire broke out at a downtown furniture store here on Saturday, destroying the store and everything in it, according to a Spokane, Wash., news report.

Television station KREM reported that the fire at Saundra's Furniture on South Main Street broke out around 8 p.m., and firefighters worked through the night and into Sunday morning to put it out.

The 40,000-square-foot store, celebrating an anniversary sale, had closed about two hours before the fire started. No one was in the building or injured, police said, according to the report.

In an interview with TV station KHQ, owner Saundra Wilma said the store had been a fixture in Colville for 20 years.

"We are going to talk to an insurance company and see how we can support our employees while we rebuild. That's the biggest thing is to figure out how to do that," she told the station.
