Gas voucher provider faces lawsuit
Court-appointed receiver claims fraud

LARGO, Fla. — The court-appointed receiver for Tidewater Marketing Global Consultants, a national gas voucher promotional program shut down by the state attorney general in February, is suing the company for fraudulent scheme, according to a Tampabay.com report.It aims to reclaim hundreds of thousands spent on personal items by the company's principals, including owner Crystal Clark, general manager James Barnes and a computer programmer named Michael Hunter of Elite Marketing of Tampa.
A number of furniture stores and other retailers used the voucher program, which promised free gas with the purchase of big-ticket items, but failed to deliver on the promised rebates.
