EASTON, Md. - Decorating Den Interiors has announced its selection of Marina Colella, owner of Decorating Den Interiors of White Plains, N.Y., to manage and expand the number of franchises in Westchester County, N.Y.
     "Her record of success has led to her being awarded a master license to expand in the county," said James S. Bugg Jr., CEO of Decorating Den Interiors, a home furnishings and interior design franchise company. "We are confident that our low-overhead in-home service business model presents a great opportunity for new franchise owners in this attractive market.
     "We are experiencing significant growth in the U.S. and Canada both in our retail sales and in awarding of new franchises," Bugg said.      Colella worked in engineering before opening her Decorating Den Interiors franchise in 2005.

CULVER CITY, Calif. - Powell Co. has hired two industry veterans, Chris Pittman and Gary Simms, as vice presidents with regional sales responsibilities.
     Pittman will be responsible for the company's independent sales representatives in the Southeast, while Simms will cover the Midwest and Northeast regions. They will work with Gary Glick, who manages the Western and Southwest regions.
     Pittman has been an independent furniture and accessory sales representative for 11 years.
     "We believe Chris' skills as a leader and one of our top performing sales representatives will make him very successful in his new position," said David Gingrich, senior vice president of multi-channel sales.
     Simms has worked in the industry for more than 30 years and most recently was senior vice president of sales for Classic Home and Classic Rug.
     "His extensive import background coupled with his team building mentality and ‘get results' oriented business approach will help the company position its current and future sales growth," Gingrich said.
     "Powell's exciting new launches in casual dining, accents, youth and seating have generated increases in the number of retailers buying the line. And made it necessary to add personnel," said Jim Ziozis, CEO of Powell.

SILVER CREEK, N.Y. - Reverie has named Raymond Totaro vice president of private label sales, a newly created position. He reports to Martin Rawls-Meehan, president of the company, a manufacturer of mattresses, adjustable beds and pillows.
     Totaro will be responsible for developing custom product solutions for brands around the world, the company said.
     Reverie's parent company, Ascion, manufactures adjustable beds under the Reverie brand in addition to serving as a supplier for other brands. By separating its branded business from its private label business, Reverie said its private label division will be able to better deliver a broad range of product solutions to other brands.
     Totaro is a trade and retail sales veteran with nearly 25 years of experience in global consumer organizations, most recently at Nestle.

LOS ANGELES - Home accents and textiles manufacturer Classic Concepts has named industry veteran Bill Carpenter vice president of sales, a new position.
     Carpenter was recently senior vice president of strategic accounts for case goods resource Legacy Traditions Solid Wood Furniture. Before that, he held executive positions at Imax, Boyd Furniture, Lifestyle Solutions, Kincaid and Collezione Europa.
     At Classic Concepts, he reports to Harpal Singh, CEO.
     "Bill has extensive experience in the industry and is very well connected with many of the top retailers in the country," Singh said in a statement. "We believe he will have a very positive impact on the growth of our business."

CHESLEY, Ontario - Solid wood furniture specialist Crate Designs has hired Jeffrey Bush to represent the company in Alberta and British Columbia.
     Bush, a six-year industry veteran, will be responsible for expanding Crate Designs' dealer network in the provinces.
     "We are excited to have Jeffrey represent our product line up to furniture retailers , " said Andrew Schuster , company president . "His enthusiasm makes him the right person to work with our line in Canada's western provinces."

MARKHAM, Ontario - Caber Sure Fit has appointed Dan Wingold as business development manager for North America, a new position.
     He will be responsible for driving product awareness and developing new business opportunities across all distribution channels in the region. He reports to Caber Sure Fit's vice president of U.S. sales, Mark Dentale.
     Before joining Caber Sure Fit, Wingold was national sales and marketing manager at Bay Street Mfg., a manufacturer of mattress and pillow protectors in Toronto.
