Trend forecasters to share views in Vegas
Speakers include Eiseman, Greene and Lamb

LAS VEGAS — What will tomorrow’s best-dressed homes be wearing? Three trend forecasters will offer answers at the Las Vegas Market next month.
Pantone’s Leatrice Eiseman, Merrill Greene of Stylesight and Michelle Lamb of Marketing Directions each will give presentations at the market, which runs Jan. 28-Feb. 1. Market organizers are calling the series “The Forecast.”
At 10 a.m. Jan. 28, Eiseman, director of Pantone’s Color Institute and author of seven books on color, will speak about trends in color.
Greene, creative director for Stylesight and a trend forecaster for the fashion and design industries for 30 years, will speak on fabric and fashion at 10 a.m. Jan. 29. She will give her view on spring 2009 colors, fabrics and styling details from the fashion runways, and explain which ones will impact the home furnishings industry.
Lamb will speak at 10 a.m. Jan. 30. She will examine the emerging styles, colors, categories, moods and motifs shaping the way people decorate in a live edition of her Trendwatch column in Accessory Merchandising magazine, which is co-sponsoring the event.
Eiseman and Greene will speak in the World Market Center’s World Forum on the 16th floor of Building B. Lamb’s presentation will be in the MGM Vista Ballroom.
The WMC said it is partnering with Furniture Style magazine in offering the Forecast series.
Other educational offerings at the upcoming market will include the new Design Icon series featuring designer Vladimir Kagan, a focus on environmental leadership, and the Western Home Furnishings Assn. series in the Retailer Resource Center.
