Staff Staff -- Furniture Today, November 16, 2010
The New York International Gift Fair announced home furnishings suppliers, particularly in the garden and outdoor living categories, are expanding their presence in the At Home division of the winter 2011 Fair.
"A number of exhibitors in At Home are increasing their exhibit space for the winter 2011 market, in expectation of healthy growth in order writing, and several industry leaders are returning to At Home following an absence from the New York Market," said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. "Buyers can expect to find a wealth of new, on-trend resources to satisfy revitalized consumer demand."
Belshaw said suppliers of outdoor furniture and accessories will be well-represented, with the return of key suppliers alongside well-established brands. Returning companies, such as Elegant Earth (outdoor accessories), FermobUSA (outdoor furniture), Mainly Baskets (wickerware and outdoor accessories), and Orlandi (outdoor accessories), will join the following long-time At Home exhibitors at Pier 94: Campo de' Fiori (garden and home accessories), Capital Garden Products (outdoor accessories), Jewels of Java (outdoor furniture), Kingsley-Bate (outdoor furniture) and Pennoyer Newman (garden accessories).
Companies expanding their At Home space at New York City's Pier 94 this winter include Amity Home (textiles), Bliss Studio (furniture and accessories), Jamie Young Co. (lighting), Jones & Jones Abode (decorative accessories), Kevin O'Brien (pillows), Moss Studios (handmade furniture), Roost (decorative accessories), Ro-Sham-Beaux (lighting) and Zentique (furnishings and accessories).
Additionally, At Home will introduce several new companies to Pier 94. At Home featuring Home Textiles also welcomes the expansion and return of several key home fashions suppliers, as well as several first-time participants. Exhibitors Allem Studio (pillows), Brahms Mount (throws) and Busatti (Italian linens) will expand their space for the winter 2011 market, and the following suppliers will return to NYIGF following an absence from the New York Market: Afera Designs (pillows), Boca Grande Furnishings (pillows/curtains), DownRight (down comforters, pillows), Madeira Embroideries Institute (Portuguese linens) and Marcel Miller (alpaca textiles).
In total, At Home featuring Home Textiles presents some 200 suppliers of bed and bath fashions (table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics), together on level one of the Javits Center. At Home featuring Home Textiles is one of three locations comprising Home Textiles Market Week in New York.
In addition to exhibits, NYIGF offers several events and seminars for home furnishings and home textiles vendors and buyers. On Saturday, Jan. 29, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., retailers are invited to attend the At Home welcome reception on Pier 94 to celebrate the market's opening day. Buyers can browse the At Home aisles while enjoying a glass of wine, hosted by Home Accents Today.
