LAS VEGAS — The World Market Center has formed a partnership with Surfaces, a major trade show for the floor covering industry that will take place the same week as the upcoming Las Vegas furniture market.
Under terms of the partnership, the two trade shows will honor each other's registration credentials and transportation vouchers, and offer discounts on educational seminars.
The Las Vegas furniture market is set for Feb. 1 to 5 at the WMC, while Surfaces will run Feb. 1 to 4 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.
"This new joint platform will offer the largest and most compelling combination of home furnishings and floor coverings in one co-located event in the U.S.," said Philip McKay, senior vice president of the WMC. "Synergies between the shows will be a great service to exhibitors and attendees alike."
Surfaces will have about 700 exhibitors of carpet, rugs, laminates, hardwood, tile, marble and the like, while the furniture market will have about 1,500 exhibitors in the WMC's three buildings.
"We view the Las Vegas Market as a complementary event to ours," said Dana Teague, director of Surfaces. "We feel by joining forces we are providing our attendees with opportunity to experience two shows in one week, saving on expenses, which is essential right now."
One of the educational highlights of Surfaces is Designer Day on Feb. 3. Las Vegas market attendees will receive a 25% discount on the day's events.
