Bedding Conference set for May

HIGH POINT — Furniture/Today's fifth annual Bedding Conference will be held at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Fla., next May.
The event is set for May 5-7 and will feature a day-and-a-half of retail-oriented educational sessions and presentations. An awards dinner on the night of May 6 will honor Four Retail Giants of Bedding.
The theme of the conference is Consumer Connections: It's All about Her.
“One of the challenges facing the bedding industry stems from the fact that it is a male-dominated category while bedding's key customers are females,” said David Perry, executive editor of Furniture/Today, who is again coordinating the Bedding Conference. “In an effort to help close that gender gap, we will be looking at key industry issues from a woman's point of view.”
Perry noted that past Bedding Conference attendees have requested more female speakers, and said Furniture/Today will be utilizing a number of female executives as it presents its panels and presentations at the Bedding Conference.
Registration for the event will be open early next year.
Furniture/Today's Bedding Conferences, regularly attracting about 220 attendees, are all-industry events with key producers, suppliers and retailers in attendance.
