Las Vegas spotlights bedding with Kickoff event

LAS VEGAS — The bedding-rich Las Vegas Market will salute the mattress category with a special day of activities at the February market.
The World Market Center is calling the market the Kickoff to Bedding 2010 and plans a number of events, WMC officials said.
The day of events will start at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, with a bedding producer roundtable discussion hosted by Furniture/Today. Senior bedding executives will share their perspectives on the industry’s business prospects in the new year and will reveal what their companies will be doing to spark sales.
More details on the panel will be announced later.
From 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. that day, the Specialty Sleep Assn. will host a panel discussion to present new research on consumer views on “green” bedding issues. The session will take place in the SSA’s space, World Market Center C-1350.
The WMC is calling the day of bedding events “another industry first.” It said the day will provide “focused opportunities and exclusive events for mattress producers, suppliers and retailers at the bedding industry’s most important event of the year.”
Most of the bedding industry’s largest producers show at the WMC, including Sealy, Simmons, Serta, Spring Air, Tempur-Pedic, Comfort Solutions, International Bedding, Therapedic, Englander and Restonic, among many others.
