Malaysian International Furniture Fair to honor young designers
New award will be presented during March 2 to 6 show in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — The Malaysian International Furniture Fair will offer a new young designer award, the winners of which will be announced during its March 2-6, 2010 show.
The Ideation Award 2010 will allow students to show off their innovation and creativity in furniture design. Entries, which are due by Jan. 30, will be judged based on concept, creativity, technology, use of materials, presentation, ergonomics, safety, marketability and sustainability.
Finalists will have their items on display at the event. First, second and third place winners will receive cash prizes as well as a trophy and certificate.
The event is open to all students studying design or architecture at a recognized Malaysian institution.
The Ideation Award joins two other existing awards at the show, including the Best Presentation Award for booth design and the Furniture Excellence Award for innovation and creativity in furniture design.
