Leon’s buys Appliance Canada
Will operate company as separate division
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 3, 2008
TORONTO — Retailer Leon’s Furniture said it has completed its purchase of the assets of home appliance wholesaler and retailer Appliance Canada.
Leon’s had announced last year that the deal was pending. A purchase price was not disclosed.
Appliance Canada has annual sales of about C$100 million. Leon’s said it will operate Appliance Canada as a separate division for wholesale distribution of major appliances to builders and landlords, and the retail sale of higher-end appliances to the public.
