WorkPlace taps Carlson as interim president
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 6, 2008
Cincinnati — Office furniture dealer group WorkPlace Furnishings' board has named Bob Carlson of St. Cloud, Minn.-based Marco Office Products as interim president.
He succeeds the late Workplace President and CEO Dennis J. Insogna, who died earlier this month.
Carlson, who also is chairman of the WorkPlace board, is a longtime member of the organization and has served on the board since 1993. He said Victor Maffe, vice president of marketing, will assume day-to-day responsibility for the organization, which provides buying, marketing, training and support functions for office furniture dealers.
"One of Dennis Insogna's most impressive achievements was the development of a strong and very competent staff organization and I'm confident in their ability to ensure a smooth transition and continue the momentum that Dennis' leadership helped generate," Carlson said. "We have already completed much of the planning for our 2008 annual meeting in March and finalizing details for that will be among our initial priorities."
