Showtime moves up June dates
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 6, 2008
High Point — Dates for the next Showtime fabric show here have been changed to June 1–4, one week earlier than previously announced.
The semiannual event's former dates of June 8–11 conflicted with the NeoCon contract fair in Chicago and also with the Jewish holiday of Shavaut.
Catherine Morsell, executive director of Showtime sponsor the International Textile Market Assn., said the old dates were chosen several years ago. High Point officials ask the organization to project dates 10 years in advance.
"But when we realized the dates were going to overlap the NeoCon fair dates and some of our Jewish members pointed out the conflict with a holiday, we considered changing the dates and couldn't see any reason we shouldn't," she said.
