Richardson joins Libeco

New York — Hamilton Adams, the U.S. distribution division of Belgian linen specialist Libeco-Lagae, has changed its name to Libeco Deco to more clearly identify with its 150-year-old parent company.
Kathyrn Richardson has joined the company in the new position of vice president of sales, U.S., and will oversee the U.S. operations of the Libeco Deco piece goods division and Libeco Home, the company's finished products and retail division.
She said the new name is timely "because there's so much going on here. We've done a lot of development in the past couple of years, and now we're hitting the sweet spot of price point and innovation that is stirring interest in a customer base that might not have noticed us before.
"Linen is a hot fabric these days, and people are becoming more aware of just how big and vertical we are," Richardson continued. "We do 60% of the world's Belgian linen production, everything from artists' canvas to embroidery to technical linens."
Before joining Libeco, Richardson was senior vice president of sales at gift company Swing Ltd.
Her previous textile experience included positions at Waverly, Revman International, Laura Ashley and Williams-Sonoma.
