Hunter Douglas pulls out the stops in consumer promotion

Upper Saddle River, NJ — Hunter Douglas Window has struck a deal with Meredith Integrated Marketing to launch a consumer marketing program that will include a 144-page book, a 24-page magazine and a three-month holiday promotion.
Launching in August, the effort hopes to spur pre-holiday sales of window coverings by presenting consumers with actionable ideas, said Jim Mathews, vp, marketing for Hunter Douglas.
"Gatherings," the 24-page magazine, will showcase Hunter Douglas window coverings and will be the centerpiece to the company's 2001 four-month long holiday promotion. Included in the magazine, which will be offered to consumers through retailers for free for the length of the August-November promotion, will be planning, product and shopping guides. Also part of the holiday promotion will be a direct mailing to 250,000 consumers.
