NEW YORK — Q Collection, a source of sustainable home furnishings, has launched a collection of safe children’s furniture and organic bedding called Q Collection Junior.

Q Collection Junior is billed as the only children’s furniture and bedding recommended by Healthy Child Healthy World, a leading nonprofit group helping parents find non-toxic, eco-friendly products for their children.

In addition, the collection’s cribs are certified by the Greenguard Environmental Institute, a nonprofit group that evaluates and verifies products that meet exacting low-VOC emission standards.

“Some things in life you just can’t avoid. But we’re happy to say that bringing unhealthy glues, dyes and wood finishes into your child’s room is no longer one of them,” said Jesse Johnson, co-founder of the Q Collection.

The health and environmental benefits of the collection, according to the company, include:

  • Only waterbased, non-toxic materials, all approved by toxicologists, are used.

  • Solid-wood construction utilizes Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood and/or wood sourced from responsibly managed forests within 150 miles of production.

  • Furniture is hand crafted in the United States.

  • Bedding is 100% organic cotton with non-toxic dyes.

  • 1% of all sales are donated to environmental nonprofits active in children’s environmental health.

  • Packaging has been redesigned to use renewable, biodegradable materials.

Q Collection’s new kids line, in classic styling, includes cribs, changing tables, dressers, an armoire system, modular storage cubes and stools. The bedding includes crib sets and individual sheets and pillows.
