Shannon, Miss. — Industry veteran Howard Slavin has joined a new upholstery maker here as a sales executive.
He joins New Preferred Furniture as key accounts executive, and will work closely with Bary Alan Leeman, the company's national sales manager.
Previously, Slavin was vice president of upholstery sales for Lifestyle Enterprise, and before that was president of Kensington Furniture. He also has been president of retailer Wickes Furniture, and vice president of merchandising at the Rooms To Go chain.
Leeman said the company will produce midpriced upholstery in a manufacturing facility here, and will include several Top 100 stores in its account base. The company is targeting the $795 to $995 retail price points for a sofa.
New Preferred Furniture is showing for the first time at Center Point on Manning, space 100, during this week's Forbidden City Furniture show in High Point.
