Rowe dismisses 10 Clayton Marcus reps

McLean, Va. — Rowe Fine Furniture said it has eliminated 10 sales positions in its Clayton Marcus division as part of a streamlining effort.
"Since acquiring Clayton Marcus in October 2007, Rowe has evaluated how to best reduce duplicate resources in order to create a more efficient organizational structure," said Stefanie Lucas, Rowe president and CEO.
"In order to best serve our retailers, we evaluated each territory and determined that in most places, one focused sales force of dedicated representatives was best, and that unfortunately meant that we had to make some difficult decisions," she said.
Reps were notified on Jan. 2. The company didn't say whether the 10 positions included all Clayton Marcus reps. Rowe acquired the upholstery brand from La-Z-Boy.
