Court rules in favor of Human Touch

Long Beach, Calif. — Massage chair producer Human Touch has been awarded partial summary judgment by a U.S. District Court in a lawsuit against KingKong USA/American Lighting and WFO Imports/Premier Health Products, for patent right infringement related to Human Touch's lower leg massage technology.
The central California court ruled that massage chair styles sold by the defendants infringe the patent-in-suit. The models include KingKong USA's paddle style Caesar and semi-parallel Legacy Deluxe massage chairs, and Premier Health Products' models PHP 2024, 2026, 2026w and 2027.
Human Touch said it will seek a court ruling on massage chairs with the same or similar lower leg massagers from other companies that it believes also violate the patent.
The ruling follows more than 14 months of effort by Human Touch, which holds a number of patents and trademarks in massage technology.
"We will take all necessary measures to ensure that our consumers are never deceived by competitors," said Human Touch President Andrew Cohen.
