By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 13, 2008
High Point — Manufacturer Whitewood Inds. said it has acquired a 160,000-square-foot former Myrtle Desk building here and plans to consolidate some of its operations into the facility.
Whitewood owns two facilities in nearby Thomasville, N.C., and also leases another three in the area. It will move operations from the leased facilities into the High Point plant, which is eight miles from company headquarters. The newly acquired building is expected to be operational in February.
The company sells to retailers through divisions Whitewood (unfinished furniture), Whitewood Masterfinish (stains and related products), John Thomas (casual dining and custom finish programs), and International Concepts, a supplier to specialty retailers.
