El Dorado starts work on 11th store

Groundbreaking set for next week in Coconut Creek

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. — El Dorado Furniture will break ground here on El Dorado Home Furnishings Center, a development that will house the Top 100 company’s 11th store as well as other businesses.

At 92,000 square feet the store will be one of the retailer’s largest, and will feature its signature Boulevard streetscape format.

The shopping center will have additional space for lease to other home-related businesses, including space for a 62,000-square-foot junior tenant, as well as two out parcels for restaurant and bank use, the retailer said.

The groundbreaking event is set for Wednesday on the 17-acre site at Sawgrass Expressway and Lyons Road. The project will be built by Stiles Construction and leased by Continental Real Estate, with completion and El Dorado’s store opening expected in early 2009.
