Michigan consumer wins $5,000 shopping spree from NHFA
Contest tied to launch of association's consumer Web portal

HIGH POINT — A Michigan consumer is the winner of the National Home Furnishings Assn.'s $5,000 shopping spree sweepstakes tied to the launch of NHFA's HomeFurnishings.com consumer Web portal.
Peggy Rydzewski, who shops Chris Furniture in Livonia, Mich., won the "Inspired Living Begins Here" home furnishings shopping spree.
"The sweepstakes was a huge success and our congratulations go out to Peggy and Chris Furniture," said Karin Mayfield, NHFA's senior director of industry promotion. Chris Furniture is owned by Christa Newell.
She added that the sweepstakes drew so much attention to the new portal, that NHFA is kicking off this year with another $5,000 shopping spree as well as promoting the Serta American Idol sweepstakes on its site. Last year's HomeFurnishings.com contest drew 45,300 entries.
The new "Inspired Living Begins Here," sweepstakes runs through March 31, and consumers can enter on any HomeFurnishings.com Certified Retailer's Web site. The drawing for the winner will be held April 15.
The grand prize for Serta's American Idol Sweepstakes is a trip for two to the 2010 American Idol finals in May. Consumers can enter when they take a "Serta Test Rest" in the bedding gallery of participating NHFA Serta retailers. The contest runs through April 25, and a winner will be announced May 4.
