AICO to preview Michael Amini-Jane Seymour furniture line
Will host Jan. 31 event on eve of Las Vegas Market
Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, January 19, 2010
LAS VEGAS — Case goods and upholstery resource AICO is unveiling its first major celebrity licensed collection, Michael Amini & Jane Seymour, a Design Collaboration, at a press party on the eve of the Las Vegas Market.
Amini, AICO's founder and CEO, said he wanted to open the showroom early for the press and also for retailers because of the magnitude of the introductions.
The event is set for 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, in the company's World Market Center space, C-1601. Along with live entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, champagne and other refreshments, Amini and Seymour, an actress, artist and designer, will be there to discuss the collection.
The collaboration includes an estimated 150 SKUs of upholstery and case goods products in three collections influenced by aspects of Seymour's life in England and Hollywood. They include: Palace Gates, an opulent traditional group; Cobblestone Road, a casual transitional group with European design influences; and Hollywood Swank, a soft contemporary group with retro design influences.
The groups include mixed media elements such as glass, metal, fabrics and heavily carved woods. Some pieces feature artwork by Seymour.
"I wanted to make sure that everyone had the chance to see these wonderful introductions, as I am so proud to be working with Jane, who is a superb artist," Amini said in a statement. "These collections will bring such a great opportunity to grow the businesses of retailers, because not only are they built to the high quality standards that AICO requires, they have been influenced by the artistic nature of Jane, who also has the ability to interact with the end user as she is such a household name."
