Surya Carpet hires Roan as chief operating officer

CALHOUN, Ga. — Rug resource Surya Carpet has named Steve Roan to the new post of chief operating officer, responsible for all operations.
President Satya Tiwari will continue to head sales and marketing. Roan reports to Tiwari, as do Surya executives Joan Catello, Jeff Gonzalez, Seth King and Shauna Snyder.
Roan has held executive posts in the rug and carpet industry for over 20 years, beginning with Shaw Rugs. Most recently, he was a founding partner of S&S Resources, which spearheaded the entry of furniture manufacturer/importer Klaussner into rugs. Surya is a major supplier of rugs for Klaussner’s program.
“Over the past two years of rapid growth, Surya has added several top sales, product development and sourcing executives,” said Tiwari. “We will be making several more appointments to further solidify our executive team and lay the groundwork for the future.”
With manufacturing in India, Surya is a major importer of rugs and home textiles products.
