Cozzia makes Vegas debut
Joan Gunin -- Furniture Today, January 27, 2008
Las Vegas — A major Chinese producer of massage chairs and health care products makes its United States debut here this week under the Cozzia brand in the World Market Center, B-1000.
The company, which has been supplying various distributors for more than 15 years, has decided to go factory-direct with its line of shiatsu massage chairs.
"Due to the demand from several Top 50 retailers and based on the success of other Asia-based direct importers, we have decided to make the step as well," said CEO Mark Holmes. "The massage chair category is one of the few niches in our business today that is seeing strong growth, mainly due to continuing consumer interest in overall wellness."
With more than 80 SKUs in assorted polyurethane and top-grain leather covers, the chairs providing relaxing and restorative massage are retail priced from $999 to $2,499, according to the company.
"By combining our existing customer service, R&D and design components, along with a vertically integrated manufacturing process, we are able to provide extraordinary values," he said.
A highlight at this market is a three-seat home theater entry equipped with both shiatsu features and power recline, at approximately $2,999.
"There is a void in the marketplace for the better- end consumer, particularly in the home theater and motion categories featuring therapeutic shiatsu massage," Holmes said.
The Atlanta-based company has no U.S. warehousing. Cozzia will also show in High Point this spring. Its Web site is at www.cozzia.com.
