ISPA Expo being held March 3-6
David Perry -- Furniture Today, January 18, 2010
ALEXANDRIA, Va. —
Treats from the Carolinas, prestigious awards and an “extraordinary” speaker will highlight the International Sleep Products Assn.'s Expo, set for March 3-6 in Charlotte, N.C.
The event, held every other year, features exhibits by mattress suppliers from around the world and is the industry's largest trade show.
But, show organizers noted, there is more to the Expo than the exhibition.
The upcoming Expo will feature another appearance by the mattress industry's homegrown band, the Insomniaczzz, which stole the show at the Expo two years ago with a high-energy performance. They will be featured during the Welcome Reception from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3.
The theme of the reception is “Carolinas ... From the Mountains to the Coast.” The reception, sponsored by Atlanta Attachment Co., will offer a variety of Carolinas-themed foods and drinks.
The Industry Breakfast, set for 7:45 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday, March 5, features a performance by illusionist Craig Karges, a nationally recognized speaker and author known as the “extraordinist.” He has made more than 4,000 appearances on four continents and all 50 states, offering a blend of mystery, humor, psychology and intuition.
The Industry Breakfast also will feature the presentation of ISPA's two top awards, the Russell L. Abolt Exceptional Service Award and the Robert MacMorran Memorial Award, honoring service to the mattress industry.
