Review of Chinese bedroom shipments for 2009 planned

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 18, 2010

The U.S. Department of Commerce has asked interested parties to submit names of Chinese bedroom producers they want to see audited during the next administrative review, covering the 2009 year.

The review will analyze 2009 wood bedroom shipments and determine whether certain factories warrant an antidumping duty that is different than their initial cash deposit rate for the year.

Interested parties must submit the names of the manufacturers by Jan. 31.

Factory names not submitted by this time will be assigned final duties owed for 2009 shipments at a rate based on their initial duty, also known as the cash deposit rate. These duties, in turn, are paid by the importers of record of those goods.

For more specific information on the process, contact Sheila E. Forbes at the DOC, (202) 482-4697.
