Barrette benefits pancreatic cancer research

CARLSBAD, Calif. —
A supporter of the Seena Magowitz Golf Classic has teamed up with a California businessman to create a hair barrette that benefits the fight against pancreatic cancer.
Denise Bojanowski, the wife of golf classic co-founder Ray Bojanowski, worked with John Dorsey to create a special version of the Flexi-8, a flexible, beaded barrette that features the purple ribbon of the pancreatic cancer crusade.
“We are doing this to bring awareness to the pancreatic cancer movement,” said Bojanowski, who joins her husband at the Seena Magowitz event each year and assists with the numerous details that go into the event, a major fundraiser for the fight against pancreatic cancer.
Bojanowski said the Flexi-8 is getting good reviews.
“The women love it,” she said. “It's so comfortable you can sleep in it.” She sold the barrettes at the latest edition of the Seena Magowitz Golf Classic, held last month in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Flexi-8 retails from $15 to $25, depending on the size of the barrette. Half of the proceeds from the Pancreatic Cancer Flexi-8 are donated to pancreatic cancer research, Bojanowski said.
